BS/2 widens its range of services: automated monitoring of self-service terminals

The BS/2 Company now offers financial institutions remote 24-hour monitoring of self-service terminal networks. Used in conjunction with the Proview software solution, it becomes possible to remotely monitor ATMs and other facilities from one observation centre, thereby checking their status and the nature of any technical problems that they might be having and increasing the accessibility of the self-service facility networks.

Tomas Augucevičius, Deputy Sales Director of BS/2, says: "The ProView software solution was created by the German company Wincor Nixdorf, the world's leading manufacturer of self-service terminals. We have adapted it to provide technical supervision services. This monitoring service makes it possible to reduce the operating costs of companies and to increasing the productivity of the self-service device network without major outlays for monitoring equipment."

According to Tomas Augucevičius, every self-service device in which ProView is installed captures all the events associated with the operation of the facility in real time and transmits the information to the BS/2 technical services centre, which is staffed 24/7 by technicians responsible for the supervision of the facilities. They resolve malfunctions remotely, but when this is not possible, they automatically notify the companies responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facilities. It is worth noting that all these procedures are conducted having regard to the stringent requirements of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) ISO 20000 for quality and service accessibility. This type of work organisation makes it possible to reduce down time to a minimum and to increase the level of client satisfaction.

"This technical monitoring service can be adapted for a self-service terminal network of any size and it is compatible with various manufacturers' hardware. In addition, it will not disrupt the normal operations and flow of transactions of the terminals", the BS/2 representative added.

The functions of this monitoring service include monitoring of software and retained cards, formulation of various reports, including compliance with the SLA (Service Level Agreement) and the possibility of remotely rebooting, resetting and restarting the hardware, reporting breakdowns, etc.

In addition, clients can monitor the effectiveness of a self-service equipment network by using the .iQ Family Products system developed by BS/2. This is a platform that systemises business processes, providing comprehensive reports about the state of the terminals and transactions and other information required for managing the equipment.

BS/2 is a successfully operating international outsourcing company which has worked for more than 10 years in the banking technology and retail trading sectors.
