Business Seminar about the Market of India in Vilnius

 

On 16 September 2010, the businessmen of Lithuania are invited to the seminar "The Opportunities and Prospects for Lithuania in the Most Rapidly Developing Market of India", organised by the Public Enterprise "Enterprise Lithuania" together with the Baltic Chamber of Commerce of India. The event will take place in Room 212 of the Ministry of Economy (Gedimino pr. 38/2, Vilnius).

During the seminar, the overview and prospects of the Indian market will be presented as well as the possibilities for export and business and cultural differences. The representatives of pharmacy, textile and information technologies companies that have been operating in India for several years, will share their experience and practical advice. The businessmen of India, who are looking for cooperation opportunities in Lithuania, also intend to participate in the seminar.

The representatives of Penki Kontinentai, the group of ITT companies that have been operating in India for a long time (since 2002), will share their experience with the seminar participants.

"India is the world leader in the field of producing software and hardware. It is one of the six countries that launch their own satellites to the space, and one of the three countries that produce the most powerful computers. In spite of that, the banks of India are using our created self-service security solution ATMeye.iQ and orders our consulting on the issues of cash logistics. During the seminar, I will speak of business ethics and the peculiarities of the Indian market," - said Andrius Ojeras, Deputy Sales Director at BS/2, daughter-enterprise of Penki Kontinentai.

According to Mr. Ojeras, the businessmen of India are most interested in the security software, cash logistics and optimisation solutions of Penki Kontinentai.

According to the data of the Statistics Department, the value of the Lithuanian export to India in 2009 was nearly LTL 239 million. The largest part of export was fertilizer (LTL 204 million), iron and steel (LTL 7.5 million), electric machinery (LTL 5.2 million), and optical, measurement, control and medical devices (LTL 5 million).
