Special acknowledgment to BS2 Estonia for ATM maintenance service
At a very important time for Estonia, when the national currency, Estonia kroon was being replaced by the European Union (EU) monetary unit BS/2 Estonia received a Diploma of Commendation for "collaboration in making retail banking equipment compatible with the euro". Estonia's banks gave this official acknowledgement of gratitude to BS/2 company, which belongs to the Penki kontinentai group. It has been successfully operating for four years on Estonian territory.
When Estonia joined the EU, it also joined the ERM2 (Exchange Rate Mechanism II) - a sort of "waiting room" for countries wishing to join the euro zone. On 1 January 2011, Estonia introduced the common EU currency, the euro (€).
"BS/2 s Estonia worked to schedule converting several hundred of the ATMs it operates to take euro currency. The first euro-dispensing operation on our ATMs took place only fifteen minutes after the midnight hour that marked the start of 2011. We are very pleased to be thanked officially in a document signed by the Presidents and Vice-Presidents of banks. The scope of the work we undertook and the responsibility we accepted have been duly appreciated", commented Head of BS/2 Estonia, Rene Rozov.
"BS/2 Estonia is a subsidiary of BS/2. It offers supervision and maintenance of retail banking equipment. It also takes orders to provide services in the field of creating programming solutions and supply of equipment from the German manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf. The ATMs we supply to Estonian banks were made ready for conversion to euros some months ahead of the official changeover date. The preparation of the ATMs went ahead in accordance with a strictly programmed schedule", emphasised BS/2 Head of Technical Department Tomas Bublys.
